Dr James Fox MBBS, MRCPsych
Dr Fox completed his core training in Psychiatry at UCL in London. This included working at UCH and a one year post in the psychodynamic therapy service at Thorpe Coombe Hospital in Waltham Forest.
Dr Fox was a speciality registrar at the Tavistock and Portman hospital in North West London. He gained further experience in liaison, community and the specialist eating disorder service at the Royal Free Hospital before working in the Tavistock looked after children team (LAC). He completing his training at the Coborn adolescent inpatient unit in East London.
Dr Fox began work as a consultant for the adolescent team in Hackney. This was a team that saw the most unwell and complex patients in the area and was rated as outstanding by the CQC.
On moving to Norfolk Dr Fox worked as a consultant in Great Yarmouth Community Youth and Crisis Service for three years. He then moved to a liaison and associate clinical director role in Suffolk.
Dr Fox continues to work part time as a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist in a community CAMHS team in Suffolk.
Dr Fox has a special interest in psychodynamic therapy and studied psychodynamic psychotherapy for psychiatrists at the Tavistock throughout his training.
Dr Fox is also trained in mindfulness, completing a training in MBCT (mindfulness based cognitive therapy).
