Family Intervention

Dr Fox offers goal focused psychodynamic informed family work and MBT informed therapy.

Goal-focused psychodynamic therapy is a short-term therapy that focuses on helping clients identify and achieve their goals. It draws on psychodynamic principles, which focus on the unconscious mind and how it influences our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Dr Fox uses this approach to help clients understand their own patterns of behavior and how they may be contributing to their difficulties. He then works with them to develop strategies for change.

Mentalisation-based therapy (MBT) is a type of therapy that helps people develop a better understanding of their own and others' mental states. It is based on the idea that our ability to mentalise, or understand the thoughts and feelings of others, is essential for healthy relationships. Dr Fox uses MBT to help clients develop their mentalising skills, which can help them to improve their relationships with others and cope with difficult emotions.

MBCT

Dr Fox offers adapted mindfulness based cognitive therapy for depression and anxiety in adolescents and adults. Dr Fox has practiced Mindfulness for over 10 years and completed a residential training in MBCT.

MBCT is a type of cognitive therapy that combines mindfulness meditation with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT is a type of therapy that helps people change the way they think about and react to their problems. Mindfulness meditation is a type of meditation that helps people focus on the present moment and accept their thoughts and feelings without judgment.

MBCT has been shown to be effective in preventing relapse in people with depression. It can also be helpful for people with anxiety disorders.
